Windsurfing: Golf Course Car park, Ynyslas Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 25-30 knots Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot rough surf Air Temperature: 13ºC Sea Temperature: 16ºC Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered:
As forecast, the wind filled in properly around 3pm, so it was back to the
beach for round 2. Rigged the 5m and big board to start with which was
fine, but after an hour or so it became a little too bouncy out there for
it and I was feeling pretty overpowered, so changed down to the little wave
board.... Perfection. Well powered up and having a great time in the mad
conditions. The sea was really rough with waves and chop all over the
place. No time to relax nd no flat water anywhere. Out the back there were
some monster swells as well. Quite a few nice jumps, lodas of good backside
wave-riding and basically blasting about on the edge of control in rough
conditions. Most of the kiters had packed up once the wind got up, but
Derek and Mike were still out, and Steve was out there having a good time
windsurfing too..
I do like the JP board, and the Mistral felt better with the smaller sail
too.
